We built {site_name} for people who just want their GPU, printer, or chipset working again — not for advertising networks. So we keep data collection to the bare minimum required to serve pages and stop abuse, and we tell you plainly what that means below.
Information We Gather
There are no account signups, no driver-download registration forms, and no newsletter traps here. What reaches us is limited to what your browser sends automatically:
- Server logs — the page you requested, the time, and the response code.
- IP address — used transiently for rate limiting and intrusion detection.
- User agent string — browser and operating system, so we can diagnose broken layouts.
We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details, because we never ask for them to read a driver guide or troubleshooting walkthrough.
Cookies and Local Storage
Honestly: there is almost nothing here. We do not run ad trackers or cross-site profiling cookies. A short-lived preference cookie may remember a UI setting such as collapsed sections; it expires quickly and carries no identifier. You can clear it at any time through your browser without losing access to anything.
Why the Data Exists
Log entries serve two purposes only: keeping the site reachable during traffic spikes and blocking scraping, credential stuffing, and denial-of-service attempts. We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor data to third parties, and we do not build marketing profiles from it. Data is retained only as long as needed for those security purposes, then discarded.
Outside Services
We may route traffic through a content delivery network so driver pages load quickly regardless of your region; that provider sees your IP as part of normal request handling. If we ever add privacy-respecting, aggregate-only analytics, it will be disclosed here first. No advertising networks are present.
Your Choices
Even though the data footprint is small, you keep control:
- Ask what we hold that relates to you.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Object to a specific processing purpose.
- Request a portable copy of anything we store.
Children
{site_name} is a technical resource aimed at adults maintaining their own computers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information, consistent with COPPA. If you believe a child has submitted data, write to us and we will remove it.
Policy Updates
If this page changes, the revised version appears here with a new effective date at the top. Continued use after that date means you accept the update; significant changes will be called out rather than buried.
Contact
Privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests: {contact_email}. We aim to respond within a reasonable window and will tell you if we need more detail to locate a record.
